Bargue Plate 12 Part 2

The second part of Bargue plate 12 was easier than the first and I was able to get it mostly right on the first try. The shadow is not as dark as the actual plate, but the book recommends than when using graphite you should not stress about trying to get it as dark as it would be possible to do with charcoal. My shadow took 4 cross-hatching layers, one of 2H, one of 2B, and two of 4B. I don't quite understand the shadow; it seems a little too simplified, but understanding doesn't necessarily come all at once. The next plate should be a little different. It is from a statue of Voltaire and features his wrinkled hand.
